Youth News

JULY 2022

As we begin the month of July, I want to start off on the right foot by sharing a passage from God’s word.  “Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.  I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”  Psalm 16:1-3.

As this is our patriotic month due to the 4th of July, I wanted to express a dual message.  One is that we should all be grateful to be born in a country where we have so much personal freedom many of which we daily take for granted.  However, while it is a good thing to be proud of one’s country we must be even more proud to be members of the church.  I want the youth to know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with celebrating one’s country in a Godly way.  It is also important for them to know their identity in Christ is more important than any temporary identity they can find while on earth.  There are many ways for humans to bond but the church bond is most special.

On a lighter note, during this month we will have two young girls returning from RYM while another will attend after.  We should pray for safe trips for all of them.  Also, pray that the mustard seed of faith be planted in their hearts if it has not already been planted and not just for them but for all the young people attending.  Lastly, I want to thank Lindsay and Anna Lee for giving up part of a Saturday to help paint the youth room.

I pray that God’s providence bring blessings on the youth and the church as a whole this month.
